Responsibilities

Minimum responsibilities:

  • Define, plan and conduct user research, especially moderated usability studies, to test user experience of customers with e-commerce app and the website in Zambia to understand users’ expectations, needs and motivations
  • Partner with the product managers, product designers, sales team, partnership team and delivery team to identify, prioritize, plan and execute efficient research strategies and methodologies for high-impact studies
  • Deliver compelling and timely weekly insights, both written and verbal
  • Structure, analyze and convey research results to the team
  • Work with the product managers and product designers to iterate on the research results

Desired responsibilities:

  • Apply rigorous analysis, synthesizing mixed methods into well-founded conclusions and recommendations
  • Identify the best method or mix of quantitative and qualitative methods based on priorities, research questions, timeline, and resourcing
  • Identify customer profiles to better choose research participants and include customers with all types of needs

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • You have excellent spoken and written English and Nyanja, other local languages are a plus
  • You are based in Zambia and have legal permission to work in Zambia
  • You are open to meet and talk with customers on a daily basis to test UX hypotheses
  • You are comfortable with using Notion, Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack, Miro
  • You are familiar with e-commerce platforms and understand key metrics that drive customer engagement and retention
  • You have 1+ years of experience in analytical or research roles
  • You are a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills that enjoys collaborative work in a dynamic environment
  • You’re creative and eager to learn and apply new methodologies in order to get to the heart of the problem even if that methodology is not your cup of tea

Desired requirements:

  • You have 1+ years of experience in a Research role within a product-focused environment, with significant expertise in exploratory qualitative research
  • You are familiar with quantitative methods, metrics and A/B tests, and are able to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative user research
  • You have a degree in Behavioral Economics, Social Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design or related fields is an advantage
